When products exceed 30,000 or 40,000 centipoise and reaching into the millions, special attention is necessary to achieve an homogeneous mix. Mixers are usually dual shafts which incorporate a low speed sweep blade that sweeps the tank walls pushing the product into an off-set high speed shaft to feed the product flow. A tri-shaft mixer is an enhanced dual shaft incorporating an additional third shaft adding greater shear due to volume, deisred mix time or weight of the product.
